Joshua's birthday party was such fun!
We decided for his first birthday to make it more intimate and just celebrate with family. We love our friends, but it just made sense to keep it simple. Our family spoils us and our kids are never in need or want, and as expected our family spoiled little guy rotten :-)

For his first, we went with the theme- The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Ever since Joshua was a baby I would joke that he was "still hungry" after every meal/feeding. It just seemed fitting to throw his first party as one of his favorite stories and one that resembled him so much!
My Mom and Dad came into town and helped me so much. Which turned out to be a heaven sent because this Mamma came down with the stomach bug just a few days before the party and couldn't function for two days straight! I am so blessed to have parents who are so loving and supportive.
The main dessert table
My first cake to decorate on my own
Entry table
The party favors were these tin of "caterpillar food" or skittles
Everyone wrote a note of wishes for Joshua
His party chair
Scott grilled hamburgers for lunch
Joshua learned how to say "one" and "happy" this weekend
Coloring his VERY hungry Caterpillar
Kate was a huge helper on his special day
Joshua loved everyone singing to him, and even sang along :-)
We missed the Haught and Doss families, but knew you were with us in spirit!
It was a perfect ending to a perfect birthday week.
Happy Birthday my Big Boy!
